Job Details
As a Legal Billing Specialist, you will
- Manage all aspects of client billing, ensuring that all invoices are accurate and sent out in a timely manner.
- Research and respond to billing inquiries, issues, or problems, ensuring that all client concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Create billing schedules and other billing analyses as needed, providing regular updates to senior management on billing activity.
- Follow firm billing policies and procedures, including firm write-off policies, ensuring that all billing activities adhere to established guidelines.
- Work closely with other members of the billing team to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure that all billing information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Handle any other billing-related tasks as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal billing role.
- Strong knowledge of legal billing procedures and best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve billing issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues at all levels of the firm.
- Proficiency in using legal billing software and other relevant computer applications.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A high degree of discretion and confidentiality, given the sensitive nature of billing information.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
