Responsibilities
As a Permanent Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for
- Managing all aspects of litigation proceedings from the investigation, pleadings, and discovery to the pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal processes.
- Representing clients in court, before government agencies, or in private legal matters.
- Communicating and negotiating with opposing counsel and other external parties to achieve the best outcome for the client.
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memoranda.
- Conducting thorough legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles.
- Providing legal advice to clients on their rights and obligations, ensuring they understand the legal complexities of their situation.
- Collaborating with a team of attorneys on case preparation and strategy development.
- Keeping abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may affect the practice and clients.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have
- A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation, with a strong focus on insurance litigation, employment litigation, and business.
- Proven track record of managing complex litigation cases from start to finish.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
