Responsibilities
As a Litigation Paralegal, your responsibilities will include
- Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of all court documents.
- Researching and analyzing law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, and contracts for review, approval, and use by attorney.
- Coordinating and managing the litigation process, from initial discovery through the final appeal.
- Conducting extensive legal research and compiling evidence for court proceedings.
- Drafting and editing legal documents with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
- Maintaining an organized case file system and tracking case deadlines.
- Coordinating with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals to ensure smooth case progression.
- Managing and organizing large volumes of complex documents, including creating and maintaining databases for document storage and retrieval.
- Assisting in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with the preparation of witnesses for deposition and trial.
The ideal candidate for the Litigation Paralegal position will have the following qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
- A Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience drafting and editing litigation documents.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using legal research software and litigation support software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong research and report-generating skills.
- Experience in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
