Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs for manufacturing equipment and components using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing personnel to understand product requirements and translate them into practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and architects.
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
- Prepare and revise detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts, and/or scale drawings for complex projects from observation, verbal instructions, and sketches.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure that designs are accurately implemented and meet quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest drafting and manufacturing techniques and technologies.
- Review and modify designs to reduce production deficiencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in drafting, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in CAD software and drafting procedures.
- Excellent detail orientation and the ability to produce precise and accurate work.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, machinists, and production managers.
- Familiarity with the latest industry trends, materials, and production techniques.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate potential design issues before they arise.
