We specialize in the development of versatile optoelectronic sensors and mechanical systems that will draw upon a strong background in mechanical design for manufacturing and thermo-mechanical analysis.

Summary
As our Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and build prototype and production-level mechanical systems for optoelectronic components and embedded systems. We specialize in the development of versatile optoelectronic sensors and mechanical systems that will draw upon a strong background in mechanical design for manufacturing and thermo-mechanical analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design mechanical tooling and components for infrared imaging sensors in cryogenic vacuum environments.
- Develop tooling and fixturing for packaging and system assembly.
- Conduct thermal and mechanical design analysis to ensure compliance with the stated system specifications.
- Develop and support new processes for packaging assembly and design.
- Generate component and assembly-level drawings and work within our established configuration management system.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience or equivalent
- Experience with Solidworks for 3D CAD, drawing generation, and finite element analysis
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience interacting with vendors and machine shops for procuring custom components
- Experience with design for manufacture (DFM)
- Experience with vacuum systems and material compatibility
- Experience with verification and validation (V&V) of designed components
- Hands-on experience integrating components into systems and assemblies
- Strong PC usage skills
