Summary

As our Mechanical Estimator you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for sheet metal and HVAC projects in commercial and industrial settings.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for sheet metal and HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work and develop comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements and objectives.
• Obtain and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain and update a database of historical cost data and industry pricing trends to support accurate estimating.
• Review and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
• Prepare and present detailed estimate reports and bid proposals to clients and management.
• Stay current with industry developments, codes, and regulations to ensure estimates reflect the latest standards and practices.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Preferred)
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, specifically in sheet metal and HVAC systems within commercial and industrial construction.
• Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and sheet metal systems, installation practices, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, AutoBid).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation is a plus.
