We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Molding / Casting / Foundry Manager to join our dynamic, well-established team. This role is ideal for an individual who has a passion for overseeing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring optimum performance and product quality while fostering a positive work environment.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for overall management of our molding operations. You will have 4 direct reports (Supervisors) and 45 indirect reports across 3 shifts. Your primary duties will include
- Overseeing the daily operations of the molding department, ensuring all processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Conducting regular performance reviews to assess employee productivity and identify areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Working closely with other department managers to ensure coordination and cooperation across all areas of production.
- Ensuring all safety and health regulations are strictly adhered to, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Training and mentoring staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise in the molding processes, implementing solutions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Regularly reporting on department performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry, specifically in molding, casting, or foundry environment.
- Proven experience conducting performance reviews and implementing strategies to improve productivity and quality.
- Strong knowledge of molding processes, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- A strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
- A degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or Manufacturing is preferred.
