The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to adult clients with behavioral health issues.
This role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, client-centered care through telehealth and in-person visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, pharmacists, and social workers.
- Utilize MediTelecare's digital platform to manage patient care and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric/Mental Health.
- Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a PMHNP.
- Unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Maine.
- Valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license.
- Experience in telemedicine preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- 3 years of experience as a psychiatric provider.
- Experience working with both adult and geriatric populations.
- Familiarity with telehealth services and technology.
