We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Developer to join our dynamic team in the healthcare industry. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will be responsible for the design, development, and management of Oracle databases, ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance. You will be part of a team that is vital to the success of our organization, and your work will directly impact patient care.
Responsibilities:
As an Oracle Database Developer, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Designing and developing database architectures, coding of database procedures, functions, and triggers.
2. Assisting in database design and development for high-traffic, high-availability applications.
3. Performing data analysis, SQL optimization, database tuning, and monitoring to ensure the best possible performance of our Oracle databases.
4. Assisting in the development and implementation of data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes.
5. Resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues, and other data-related problems.
6. Collaborating with other developers on code optimization, query tuning, and schema refinement.
7. Providing SQL / PLSQL development support and perform database change management using Liquibase.
8. Ensuring that all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the company's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
9. Testing databases to ensure optimal performance and making necessary adjustments.
10. Ensuring the security of company databases by developing policies and procedures for data security, backups, and disaster recovery.
11. AWS Data Services Integration: Work with AWS persistent data store services such as S3, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, or other database technologies to migrate our legacy Oracle schema designs to cloud-based workflows. Implement data pipelines using tools like AWS Glue, DataSync, or Step Functions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Developer or a similar role.
3. Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle 11g and 12c.
4. Demonstrated experience with code migration, database change management, and data management in multiple environments and different stages of the development life cycle.
5. Experience with performance tuning, including optimizing SQL queries and PL/SQL scripts.
6. Familiarity with the principles of database design, data acquisition, and data access analysis and design.
7. Knowledge of database backup procedures, disaster recovery protocols, and information security and protection.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Strong attention to detail, with a deep understanding of the best practices for database development and management.
10. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
11. Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Glue, or Data Pipeline)
