Job Details
- Prepare and oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure proper accounting procedures and controls are followed for all plant financial activities.
- Collaborate with corporate finance to consolidate plant results into company-wide financial reports.
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard cost accounting processes, including tracking and reporting on material costs, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze variances and report on material usage, labor efficiency, and production overhead to identify areas for cost improvement.
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliations, manage physical inventory counts, and ensure proper valuation of inventory.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with operations and corporate teams.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support plant operations and decision-making.
- Act as a key business partner to the Plant Manager, contributing to strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
- Monitor capital expenditures and prepare ROI analyses for plant investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, GAAP, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
