Job Details
The Director of Lodging oversees all aspects of operations at the hotel, including staff management and guest satisfaction. They serve as an ambassador for the company, providing leadership and strategic planning to support the service culture, maximized operations, and guest satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
- Experience as a General Manager, Director, or similar leadership role at a hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee hotel operations and campground functions.
- Hold regular briefings and meetings with department heads.
- Ensure compliance with hotel operating controls, policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Lead key property issues, including capital projects, customer service, and refurbishment.
- Handle complaints and oversee service recovery procedures.
- Prepare, present, and achieve the hotel and campground annual operating budgets.
- Manage ongoing profitability, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
- Make decisions in the best interest of the hotel and management.
- Deliver hotel budget goals and set short- and long-term strategic goals for the property.
- Develop improvement actions and carry out cost savings.
- Understand P&L statements and react with impactful strategies.
- Monitor business reports daily and make decisions accordingly.
- Ensure accurate monthly financial outlooks for rooms, food & beverage, admin & general.
- Maximize room yield and hotel/resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
- Procure operating supplies and equipment and contract with third-party vendors.
- Manage and develop the hotel leadership team.
- Be accountable for department head responsibilities and take ownership of guest complaints.
- Lead in all aspects of business planning.
- Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement.
- Safeguard the quality of operations (internal & external audits).
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in hotel management.
- A seasoned hotel professional with outstanding management skills.
- A valid driver's license.
