Job Details
We are currently seeking an accomplished Project Manager specializing in Marine Survey. While the role is primarily office-based, there may be occasional in-field supervisory responsibilities at various locations across the United States and internationally. Field assignments may involve both shore-based and offshore-based work, including 24-hour ship operations.
Responsibilities
Manage marine survey projects both in the field and office, involving client interactions, planning field operations, and overseeing field personnel.
Conduct cost analysis, estimating anticipated costs for marine survey projects.
Develop and implement budgets based on estimates.
Collaborate with HSEQ Manager to ensure adherence to HSEQ Protocols, prioritizing the safety of marine survey personnel and colleagues.
Lead interdepartmental teams to complete assigned marine survey projects within specified timelines, meeting accuracy and efficiency standards.
Effectively communicate and support offshore field staff on a regular basis.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other managers and field personnel.
Liaise with clients, laboratories, project-related vendors, subcontractors, outside consultants, and service providers throughout all project phases.
Ensure compliance with marine survey equipment maintenance and care procedures during mobilization, in the field, and during demobilization.
Coordinate with the data processing manager to organize personnel and schedules for data processing and reporting.
Offer advice on, or actively prepare/write proposals related to sediment sampling projects.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on client outreach initiatives.
Requirements
3-5 years of relevant experience in project management SPECIFICALLY in marine field operations related to sediment sampling, including vibracoring, seafloor-deployed CPT, nearshore/shallow water marine boring, in-situ thermal resistivity, on-board sediment analysis, etc.
Experience in Offshore Wind and O&G infrastructure projects, submarine cable/pipeline routing, civil engineering, and/or environmental assessment projects is advantageous.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a geomatics-related field (hydrography, geology, geophysics, or engineering).
Working knowledge of hydrographic data acquisition systems and software, including Multibeam Sonars, Singlebeam Sonars, Side Scan Sonars, and GNSS navigation systems. Familiarity with geophysical equipment operation and deployment is a plus. Software proficiency in QINSy, HYPACK, Edgetech Discover, SonarWiz, Caris, Qimera, and Global Mapper is desirable.
Experience in mobilizing vessels for geotechnical operations and troubleshooting sediment sampling equipment.
Proven ability to meet project deadlines and coordinate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
Demonstrated leadership skills in managing both office and field personnel.
Excellent communication and writing abilities.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized/eligible to work in the US.
Physical Requirements
Alternating periods of standing on a marine survey vessel and sitting at a desk, working on a computer.
Working in outdoor weather conditions on a vessel.
