We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Property Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of property accounting, including preparation of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, lease administration, and variance analysis. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for each property.
- Oversee lease administration, including the calculation of rent increases, tenant billings, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with property managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Handle year-end audit processes and tax return preparation.
- Utilize MRI and Yardi software to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
- Proficiency in MRI and Yardi accounting software is a must.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and property operations.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- CPA certification is a plus.
