Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about real estate and accounting and who is looking to take their career to the next level. As a Property Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our company, ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial data. You will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, including the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, including the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly budget-to-actual variance reports and provide explanations for significant variances.
3. Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned properties, including the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts, and capital budgets.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, including GAAP.
5. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
6. Liaise with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of property and tenant transactions.
7. Review and approve property-level accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions.
8. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in full cycle accounting is required.
3. No job hoppers.
4. Proficiency in QuickBooks or Yardi or MRI desired.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP.
6. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial personnel.
8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
9. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
10. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and excellence in work product.
