We are seeking a talented and driven Property Accountant to join our dynamic and fast-paced Accounting and Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the overall financial operations of a highly successful organization. The Permanent Property Accountant will be responsible for managing and executing all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. We are seeking a talented and driven Property Accountant to join our dynamic and fast-paced Accounting and Finance team. The Permanent Property Accountant will be responsible for managing and executing all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role will play a key role in the financial success of our organization, and will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals in a collaborative and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Utilize Yardi and QuickBooks to manage and track financial information, and to generate financial reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely audit of financial statements.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance of properties, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Manage and reconcile all intercompany transactions and balances.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to property accounting.
- Collaborate with other members of the Accounting and Finance team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or related field.
- Proven experience with Yardi, QuickBooks, accounts payable, accounts receivable, GAAP, and general ledger.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred but not required.
