Responsibilities
As a Permanent Protection Engineer, your key responsibilities will include
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining protection systems for both renewable and conventional generation systems.
- Ensuring all systems and procedures are in compliance with NERC standards.
- Conducting regular loop testing to ensure the integrity and safety of our electrical systems.
- Designing and implementing protection hardware for a variety of applications.
- Ensuring the safety and reliability of reactor protection systems.
- Working with compensated lines, ensuring their proper function and safety.
- Implementing and maintaining single pole tripping systems.
- Using RSCAD and other software for system design and analysis.
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Protection Engineer position should have the following qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Extensive experience with both renewable and conventional generation systems.
- Proven experience in ensuring NERC compliance.
- Strong skills in loop testing and the use of related equipment.
- Experience in designing and implementing protection hardware.
- Knowledge and experience in reactor protection.
- Experience working with compensated lines.
- Knowledge and experience in single pole tripping.
- Proficiency in using RSCAD and other system design and analysis software.
