Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the company's objectives.
• Manage the entire purchasing process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating purchase terms.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Handle RFQs, analyze quotes, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring the best possible prices and terms.
• Monitor market trends and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure materials and equipment are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
• Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
• Regularly review delivery schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
• Conduct regular supplier analysis to maintain high levels of quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent/Buyer in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in managing and executing purchase orders and RFQs.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
• Previous experience ordering materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and other related computer applications.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve vendor or contractor grievances.
