Job Summary
Responsible for oversight of the company’s billing and coding functions. Manage the billing and coding teams, promote timely completion of billing and coding assignments. Provide direction, training, counsel, discipline, and evaluation of direct reports. Report trendlines and collaborate with practice operations and compliance to identify and resolve risk areas.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising the daily operations of the revenue cycle team
- Leading RCM implementation for practice integrations
- Ensuring all billing and collection procedures adhere to legal and health insurance policies
- Developing strategies to improve and accelerate the revenue cycle process
- Overseeing the registration, billing, and collection processes
- Identifying issues in the revenue cycle process and implementing solutions
- Preparing and presenting reports on the status of accounts and collections
- Training, guiding, and evaluating performance of revenue cycle staff
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate billing operations
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding, billing, and regulatory standards
- Negotiating with health insurance companies on payment and billing issues
- Ensuring patient confidentiality and data privacy in compliance with relevant laws
- Develops and monitors productivity benchmarks for RCM team and reports weekly to CFO
- 5 years of RCM experience.
- 2 years in leadership or supervisory experience.
- An auditing/compliance background is preferred in coding/billing regulations.
- Working knowledge of Office 365.
- Proficient in Athena One billing system.
Education /Experience
- Certified Coder (AAPC/AHIMA) preferred for advanced knowledge of CPT/ICD10 coding fundamentals and principles. Advanced knowledge of LCD/NCDs/NCCIs as it relates to billing.
- Experience in Pro Fee billing emphasizing E&M visits, Procedures, Surgeries, Hospital Consults etc.
- Five years of physician practice, billing and coding experience. CPB preferred.
- MFM and OBGYN experience a plus
