Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Performing month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Coordinating and conducting periodic inventory counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with the preparation and presentation of financial reports to senior management, highlighting trends, variances, and financial performance.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and maintaining compliance with these regulations.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and drive business growth.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role should possess the following qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or similar certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end procedures.
- Experience in inventory management and count procedures.
- Exceptional knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Fluency in Spanish is a must due to the nature of our business operations.
- Proven ability to prepare and present detailed financial statements and reports.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
