Our dynamic Engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Senior Accountant to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in the financial management of our company, driving financial reporting, cost accounting, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GAAP, SEC, BaaN, and have a proven track record of success in similar roles. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the engineering industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
2. Ensuring compliance with GAAP principles.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Managing month-end and year-end close process.
5. Conducting detailed risk analysis and financial reviews.
6. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
7. Liaising with our auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
8. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Directing the activities of staff in the accounting department and ensuring they have the necessary resources and skills to efficiently perform their roles.
10. Using BaaN ERP system for financial reporting and cost accounting.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Senior Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
3. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
4. High proficiency in using BaaN ERP system.
5. Strong understanding and experience with GAAP and SEC regulations.
6. Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles.
8. Ability to direct and supervise accounting staff.
9. Solid experience with MS Office and financial management software.
10. Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
