Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. As a Senior Accountant at our dynamic, high-growth service company, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, optimizing processes, and supporting the finance department to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax.
Lead the monthly close process and identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting functions.
Support the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance and resolve any issues.
Maintain and track fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules and capital expenditures.
Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities, including daily cash position and short-term investments.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, internal controls, and financial systems.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, including Operations and HR, to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrity.
Analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Stay up to date with evolving accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation preferred but not required.
5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking.
