About the Role:
The Senior Payroll Accountant will be responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Additionally, the candidate will maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in job classifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
2. Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in job classifications.
3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
4. Coordinate with the HR team to ensure accurate benefits administration and record keeping.
5. Prepare and deliver payroll reports to management, highlighting any issues or discrepancies.
6. Assist in the development and implementation of payroll procedures to improve efficiency.
7. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
Requirements:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a multi-state environment.
2. Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is highly preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and wage and hour laws.
4. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
9. A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
