Responsibilities
Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate financial reporting for SaaS subscription and service-based revenue.
Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Support financial audits by preparing documentation and working closely with external auditors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and FP&A, to ensure proper accounting treatment for contracts and revenue transactions.
Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies related to revenue recognition and other key areas.
Analyze and report on financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue and SaaS metrics.
Assist in tax compliance, reporting, and regulatory filings as needed.
Participate in system and process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
3-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in the SaaS industry or technology sector.
Public accounting experience required, with a preference for candidates who have worked with SaaS or software clients.
Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams.
