Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all stages of affordable housing development projects, including site acquisition, due diligence, financial modeling, securing financing, project design, construction, and lease-up.
- Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide consistent communication to all stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and issues.
- Coordinate with finance teams to prepare and review pro forma financial analyses, underwriting assumptions, and capital structures.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to affordable housing development.
- Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making with respect to project challenges, and implement effective solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local governments, community organizations, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project management staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, underwriting, real estate, development, specifically in the low-income housing and affordable housing sectors.
- Proven experience in managing all phases of affordable housing development projects, from conception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of affordable housing finance, including low-income housing tax credits, bonds, and other funding sources.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar is highly desirable.
- A strong commitment to the mission of affordable housing and community development.
