You will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive project estimates, managing project staffing requirements, and ensuring cost-effectiveness across our portfolio of multi-family and senior housing projects. This role is particularly focused on Section 8 HUD Housing, HUD, affordable housing, OFHA, Multi Family, Apartments, and Senior Housing projects.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Sr. Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include
- Developing detailed and accurate project estimates in line with project specifications and timelines.
- Managing project staffing requirements to ensure optimal productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements.
- Evaluating and adjusting estimates as necessary to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Analyzing and interpreting project blueprints, technical drawings, and other project documents to prepare estimates.
- Conducting risk analysis for potential projects, considering materials, labor, location, and other factors.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements to ensure that our estimating processes remain competitive.
- Providing consultation on planning, coordination, and supervision of technical aspects of construction projects.
- Evaluating bids from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring they meet project scope and budget.
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Sr. Estimator role will possess the following qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in estimation, specifically within the realms of Section 8 HUD Housing, HUD, affordable housing, OFHA, Multi Family, Apartments, and Senior Housing projects.
- Proven experience in project staffing and cost estimation.
- A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant estimating software.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Estimating or a related field would be a plus.
- Must be local to the area or willing to relocate prior to starting
