Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, you will be an essential part of our financial team, handling a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our fiscal activities. Your key responsibilities will include
- Managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate payments while maintaining excellent rapport with our business partners.
- Scheduling payments and managing cash flow to optimize our financial resources.
- Performing account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of our financial records.
- Handling month-end closing activities, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
- Managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring all transactions are processed promptly and accurately.
- Providing expert financial advice and insights to help shape our business strategy and drive growth.
The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned accountant with a strong understanding of the energy industry and a track record of excellence in financial management. Specific qualifications for this role include
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Proficiency in vendor management, payment scheduling, account reconciliation, month-end closing, general ledger maintenance, and AP and AR management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in clear, concise terms.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
