Responsibilities
As an Accountant, your key responsibilities will include
- Overseeing cost accounting procedures and ensuring the accurate allocation of expenses.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accurate record keeping.
- Utilizing Microsoft Excel to analyse financial data and generate reports.
- Managing the company’s cash flow, including forecasting and budgeting.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Collaborating with the finance team to streamline accounting procedures and refine financial reporting systems.
- Liaising with external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews.
- Assisting with other accounting projects as needed.
The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant position will have the following qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
- Proven experience in cost accounting and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables, use advanced formulas, and generate reports.
- Strong knowledge of cash flow management and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent understanding of financial reporting standards and procedures.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in your work.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- CPA certification is a plus.
