We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Supply Chain Manager to join our team in the Engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our supply chain operations, including procurement, vendor management, contract negotiation, supply planning, and budgeting. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of our operations and the successful delivery of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex supply chains, demonstrating strong strategic thinking, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the engineering industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies, covering all supply chain activities from sourcing to end-of-life.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring high-quality service, timely delivery, and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee the entire supply chain process, ensuring all operations are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and oversee the execution of procurement plans in line with project requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Conduct market research to identify new potential vendors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with other departments to forecast future supply needs and make necessary arrangements.
- Regularly review and optimize supply chain processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all supply chain activities.
- Monitor and report on supply chain performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the engineering industry.
- Professional certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in negotiating and setting up contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and best practices in the engineering industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets and cost optimization.
