We are on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Land Surveyor to join our dynamic engineering team. Our ideal candidate is a professional with over five years of experience in the field, who can effectively handle a range of surveying tasks, including boundary determination, topographical mapping, and ALTA surveys. As a Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting detailed field surveys, analyzing data, and preparing reports and maps. This role requires a high level of precision and a deep understanding of mathematical and scientific concepts. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy, you could be the perfect fit for our team.
Responsibilities
- Conducting field surveys to establish legal boundaries, topography, and ALTA surveys.
- Supervising survey party chiefs and ensuring that field data is accurately collected and processed.
- Collaborating with engineers and architects on projects to determine precise locations and measurements.
- Preparing detailed site plans, survey reports, and maps using computer software.
- Evaluating survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation.
- Analyzing survey data, source maps, photographs, and other records to determine the precise location and measurements of important features.
- Researching legal documents, survey records, and land titles to clarify information about property boundaries.
- Maintaining records, preparing legal documents, and sharing survey findings with clients and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience as a Land Surveyor, Party Chief, or in a similar role.
- Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or equivalent.
- Proficiency with surveying technology and software, such as AutoCAD, GPS, GIS, and other related systems.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and practices, boundary laws, and legal documents related to land surveying.
- Exceptional mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate distances, angles, and areas.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on complex information.
- Strong communication and team management skills.
- Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions and walk or stand for long periods.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different sites as needed.
