Overview
A leading manufacturing and engineering firm is seeking a Test & Validation Engineer - Supervisor to play a key role in product validation, process improvement, and testing methodologies. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise and project management, working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The position will lead efforts in test fixture design, material validation, and process control development while ensuring rigorous testing standards for new and existing components. Responsibilities include executing Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&Rs), Process Control Plans (PCPs), and participating in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA). A combination of hands-on testing, automation, statistical analysis, and leadership is essential for driving innovation, reliability, and compliance.

Responsibilities
Test Development & Execution
- Design, build, automate, and improve manual and automated test fixtures.
- Develop and execute test plans to qualify components for product improvements, cost reduction, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement DVP&Rs and PCPs based on DFMEA/PFMEA assessments.
- Conduct statistical analysis to assess repeatability and reliability (R&R) of test methods.
- Maintain a calibration schedule for lab equipment.
- Establish and enforce lab safety, cleaning, and maintenance protocols (5S methodology).
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and procurement of testing equipment and components.
- Manage, analyze, and interpret test data using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or R.
- Develop detailed test reports and presentations to communicate findings.
- Ensure test processes align with product performance requirements and industry standards.
- Serve as a mentor and technical expert, guiding teams on test methodologies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability and performance.
- Maintain communication with key stakeholders, including engineering and project management teams.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for enhanced testing efficiency and reliability.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred).
- 5 years of experience in product testing and test lab operations.
- Experience in product development and validation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues when necessary.
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and operational intelligence.
- Data-driven with strong documentation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (PLC Logic, MATLAB, Python, R, Microsoft Office).
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in constructing test fixtures for mechanical, fluid dynamics, and chemical evaluations.
- Knowledge of test stand automation (PLC, Pneumatics, LabView).
- Familiarity with data acquisition (DAQ) technology and methods.
- Ability to code in MATLAB, Python, or R for complex data analysis, emphasizing R&R statistics.
- Background in test lab environments (data collection, analysis, reporting).
- Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Hands-on experience with tools and fixtures, particularly in fluid dynamics evaluation.
- Understanding of water chemistry and water treatment.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and R&R statistics-driven experimentation.
