Job Details
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain grinding machines to meet production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to understand the specifications of the parts to be grinded.
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
- Inspect and measure workpieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to detect any problems or deviations from specifications.
- Operate CNC cutter and other machines to produce or repair tools.
- Use Brown and Sharpe, Davenport, and other specialized equipment to perform tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure the efficiency and quality of operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent. A technical certificate or associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a tooling operator/grinder, machine operator, or similar role in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in operating grinding machines, CNC grinding, CNC cutter, Brown and Sharpe, Davenport, and other specialized equipment.
- Experience in tool and cutter grinding, cylindrical grinding, surface grinding, and other related skills.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a manufacturing setting.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
