We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and dedicated Traveling Superintendent specializing in the Healthcare sector of the Construction industry. This unique role will allow you to combine your passion for construction with the rewarding field of healthcare, working on projects that directly impact the well-being of patients. You will be responsible for overseeing construction projects at various healthcare facilities, including cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires frequent travel to different project sites, offering a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to engage with diverse teams and projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
- Understand and interpret blueprints, specifications and project plans to align the construction process with the project goals.
- Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds the standards set by the company and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Manage risks associated with the construction process, implementing risk mitigation strategies as needed.
- Handle contract management duties, including negotiating contracts, overseeing contract fulfillment, and resolving any contract-related issues.
- Ensure all construction activities align with health and safety regulations, taking immediate action to address any safety concerns.
- Implement effective project management strategies, coordinating and directing multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
- Regularly report project status to senior management, providing detailed updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Proven experience in site supervision, quality control, contract management, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and OSHA safety protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate teams and liaise with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated abilities in risk management, including the ability to identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Experience working with cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel regularly to different project sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
