You will be responsible for managing, investigating, and resolving claims, as well as negotiating settlements within the Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage and litigation. As a Permanent UCJF Litigation Claims Adjuster, you'll be playing a vital role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your expertise in claims adjustment will be put to the test. You will be responsible for managing, investigating, and resolving claims, as well as negotiating settlements within the Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage and litigation. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations of complex claims, including interviewing involved parties, reviewing police reports, and examining vehicle damage to determine the extent of the company’s liability.
- Analyze complex written materials such as medical reports, legal documentation, and detailed loss projections to determine the extent of loss or damages.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and co-insurers, ensuring that all claims are settled in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as the company representative.
- Maintain a high level of customer service by providing prompt and accurate services to policyholders and claimants.
- Liaise with legal counsel to manage litigation and reduce potential company exposure.
- Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in claims adjusting, specifically with UM/UIM and litigation claims.
- Proven experience in investigating complex claims and negotiating settlements.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies and coverage, claim payment procedures, and insurance regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately calculate benefits, premiums, and other figures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Valid adjuster's license in your state of residence or the ability to obtain one.
- CPCU, AIC, ARM, SCLA, or equivalent designation preferred.
