Responsibilities
As a Workers' Compensation Attorney, your duties will include
- Handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases from the initial client meeting through resolution.
- Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
- Litigating cases before a workers' compensation judge or board of referees.
- Representing the interests of the employer or insurance carrier at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
- Communicating regularly with clients, medical providers, the workers' compensation administration, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
- Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, legal articles, legal decisions, opinions, rulings, memoranda, and other legal material for case evaluation.
- Developing strategies and negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following requirements
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state of South Carolina.
- 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law and insurance defense.
- Proven track record in handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality legal representation to our clients.
