Job Summary :
The Production Painter is responsible for applying finishes to company products, aircraft, assemblies, parts, and test coupons. The role involves performing various processing tasks, coating application, parts identification, and the repair and minor assembly of products. The ideal candidate will work effectively within a team, ensuring all production requirements are met with the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Apply finishes to products, including painting, media blasting, masking, stenciling, and part identification marking.
- Prepare surfaces for painting using pneumatic sanders or by hand.
- Work from blueprints, process instructions, customer specifications, job aids, and written / verbal information to perform tasks.
- Follow Client, customer, OSHA, ISO, and Nadcap procedures.
- Access and work with material MSDS data and comply with Client Safety policies.
- Maintain certifications, qualifications, licenses, or permits required for work.
- Perform self-inspections of in-process and finished work to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Use test equipment and apply quality standards to completed work.
- Input required data into the FDAQ database.
- Perform rework and incorporate changes to products as needed.
- Follow Client's Clean as you Go" policy for housekeeping and proper disposal of materials in paint booths and designated areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized Paint Mix room at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance on paint equipment, such as cleaning and replacing packing's, O-rings, and valves.
- Move products within the manufacturing work area, using shop-assigned equipment (e.g., ovens, overhead cranes).
- Assist in the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees.
- Assist with internal and external audits, demonstrating best practices.
- Support Assembly Technicians as required, or as requested by Manager or Team Lead.
