Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator V (MongoDB) to support and manage MongoDB databases in a large-scale, distributed environment.

The role requires strong knowledge of MongoDB architecture, security enhancements, and experience with cloud platforms like Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

Support MongoDB clusters serving critical applications.
Resolve security vulnerabilities, including server and OS patching, ensuring MongoDB clusters adhere to security standards.
Monitor MongoDB clusters to identify potential issues and prevent incidents.
Help develop tools necessary for migrating data from MongoDB to PostGres.
Work with the application team to address incidents and participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support.
Be available off-hours to meet and work with engineers in different time zones.

Required Qualifications

Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharded clusters, and data distribution.

Proficiency in MongoDB database design, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, monitoring, backup and restore, and patch management.

Experience in MongoDB performance tuning and optimization.

Hands-on experience with MongoDB security enhancement using X509 and TLS authentication.

Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining applications on Kubernetes platforms.

Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, such as pods, services, deployments, and stateful sets.

Experience with container runtimes like Docker.

Administration experience with MySQL and SQLite.

Minimum of three years of experience with programming languages (Python, SQL, Perl, Shell).

Quick learner with the ability to support large-scale distributed database platforms.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with migrating data from MongoDB to other databases like PostGres.

Education : Bachelors Degree
