Job Summary :
The Sensory and Consumer Research Assistant will support the sensory and consumer testing processes, assist in designing and executing tests, and contribute to the management and analysis of consumer panels.
Key Responsibilities :
Help design and execute sensory tests (discrimination, descriptive) and quantitative consumer tests (hedonics) using standard sensory software.
Conduct routine analysis, interpret, and report test findings.
Design screening and recruiting surveys for consumer tests based on criteria provided by internal or external clients.
Support qualitative consumer research methods through note-taking and other activities related to focus groups and other methods.
Panel Responsibilities :
Efficiently administer sensory and consumer panel activities, working closely with the panel coordinator to ensure smooth execution and panel administration.
Prepare test materials, recruit and manage assessors, report test findings, and collate information while respecting deadlines.
Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices for all food handling and preparation.
Write documents related to panel execution (e.g., consent forms).
Use internal systems to recruit and schedule panels when the panel coordinator is unavailable.
Required Qualifications :
College degree required (any industry).
Strong people-oriented skills and great organizational abilities.
Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience in sensory or consumer research is a plus.
Familiarity with sensory analysis software and consumer research methodologies.
