Job Title: Paralegal – Estate Planning & Elder Law
Job Description:
A well-established law firm specializing in estate planning, elder law, and long-term care planning is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their team. This role will support attorneys with various tasks related to estate planning and elder law matters, including drafting legal documents, preparing filings, and assisting clients through the estate administration process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Prepare and file legal documents with probate courts, including petitions for guardianship, conservatorship, and probate administration.
- Assist with the administration of estates, including preparing inventories, accountings, and distributions.
- Conduct legal research on estate planning and elder law matters.
- Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to gather information and ensure smooth case progression.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and properly filed.
- Provide support in long-term care planning and Medicaid eligibility issues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal in estate planning and elder law.
- Strong understanding of estate planning documents and elder law processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Paralegal certification or relevant educational background preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
