About this Role :

As a Project-Based Learning Designer and Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission to empower young people. You'll design and implement innovative, hybrid project-based learning curriculum tailored to local needs. By leveraging our LMS platform, Headrush Learning, you'll create engaging projects that align with our unique JAG Advantage model. This model merges trauma-informed care, education, employability skills, and real-world experiences to help students not only overcome adversity but also thrive. You'll collaborate closely with local employers and youth participants to develop projects that intersect education, youth development, and workforce development. Your role will report to the Senior Director of Learning Design and Innovation.

What You’ll Do : Design & Development

  • Design and develop innovative, project-based learning curriculum aligned with future of work competencies.
  • Create engaging learning experiences that leverage our learner-centered platform, Headrush Learning.
  • Develop and maintain a library of high-quality project-based learning resources.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify the needs of local employers and youth participants.
  • Design and develop project-based learning curriculum aligned with Workforce Pathways for Youth grant objectives, specifically for delivery on the Headrush platform.
  • Ensure curriculum integrates career exploration, soft skills development, social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies, and local industry needs.
  • Develop project-based learning activities that are engaging, interactive, and leverage the affordances of the Headrush platform.

Coordination

  • Coordinate the implementation of new and revised project-based learning curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment of curriculum with program goals and industry standards.
  • Manage project timelines, deadlines, and resource allocation.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to program staff and participants.
  • Create facilitator guides and training materials for effective curriculum delivery on Headrush.
  • Train facilitators and staff on the curriculum, including pedagogy, technology integration specific to Headrush, and best practices for engaging youth.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve curriculum based on participant feedback, industry trends, and Headrush platform capabilities.
  • Employer Engagement

  • Partner with local employers and affiliate partner to design projects that incorporate new industry knowledge, subject matter expertise, and relevant skills.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers and affiliate partners to ensure ongoing collaboration and support.
  • Facilitate industry partnerships to create real-world project opportunities for youth participants.
  • Organize and host employer roundtables and networking events.
  • Track and report on employer engagement metrics.

    The hiring range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 annually (plus an annual bonus), in alignment with JAG’s compensation philosophy. The pay range listed is based on national compensation benchmark data and may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, variations in cost of labor, and in some cases, geographic location. The exact job offer will be determined based on several factors such as the candidate’s individual skills, qualifications and experience relative to the requirements of the role and market demands.

    Requirements : Who you are :

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in curriculum design and development, preferably in project-based learning (PBL) or educational program design.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • You are a passionate advocate for youth. You deeply believe in the potential of young people and are committed to creating equitable pathways to success.
  • You are a creative and experienced instructional designer with a proven track record of developing engaging and effective learning experiences, particularly within project-based learning environments.
  • You have conducted needs assessments and designed curriculum aligned with specific grant objectives.
  • You are familiar with learner-centered platforms like Headrush Learning or similar learning management systems.
  • You have a strong understanding of career readiness frameworks, social-emotional learning and workforce development.
  • You can collaborate effectively with local employers and educators to integrate real-world applications into the curriculum.
  • You have experience training facilitators and educators on curriculum implementation and technology integration.
  • You are able to travel to JAG National events and team training as needed.
  • Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
