placement, and follow-up throughout the students’ participation in the JDG program.
This position reports to the designated High School Supervisor.
This position is full-time working 12 months per year and is classified as exempt.

Major Responsibilities
- Meet with an Advisory Committee of school counselors and officials to select and schedule at-risk students for the JDG program
- Enroll students as required by JDG and funding providers
- Plan, organize, and teach the JDG curriculum to assigned students
- Provide counseling and assessment to determine each student’s career interests
- Maintain JAGForce (on-line) records and reports
- Integrate Delaware Career Association (DCA) student organization activities to enhance and support the curriculum
- Help students achieve necessary leadership, civic, social, and career preparation competencies via DCA and classroom activities
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with school personnel
- Serve as liaison with school staff and social service agencies as needed
- Identify job openings and assist students in acquiring employment
- Provide one (1) year of follow-up contact and assistance to designated students upon departure from the JDG program
- Contact designated students’ employers as required by JDG follow-up schedule
- Participate in JDG and school staff meetings and professional development activities
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Experience with various computer applications
- Ability to organize and manage complex duties
- Ability to prepare & maintain accurate records
- Acceptable results from a criminal background check
- Acceptable results from a tuberculosis (TB) test
- Acceptable results from JDG’s drug screening
- Acceptable results from Delaware’s Child Protection Registry
- Acceptable results from the National Sex Offender Registry
- Previous experience working with at-risk youth
- Previous classroom / education / teaching experience
- Knowledge of child development issues
- Degree major in education, social service, or counseling
