Full job description
Automotive Alignment Technician - Essential Duties
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Drives vehicle onto wheel alignment rack and tests vehicle for faulty wheel alignment, bent axle, worn ball joints and bent steering rods.
Straightens axle and steering rods, adjusts shims, tie rods and joining pins to align wheels or install new parts.
Places wheel on balancing machine to determine where counterweights must be added to balance wheel.
Installs shock absorbers, brakes and performs fluid services
Attends manufacturer product training as requested.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Automotive Alignment Technician - Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
