What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career Specialist position at Jobs for Ohio's Graduates?
As a Career Specialist in our Summit County office, you will :
- Be integrated into an assigned Summit County high school(s).
- Assist high school youth to successfully transition to employment, enrollment or enlistment while collectively aiding in barrier removal and goal achievement.
- Competency instruction, promote the goals of JOG and facilitate compliance to JOG's standards and objectives.
- Assess participant needs, develop their skill set, provide mentorship, and track / document progress while working collaboratively with all members of the JOG team to determine best practices for participants.
A Bachelor's degree is required. Teaching, Social Work, Career Development, Job Placement / Development, Employment and Vocational Counseling, Career Guidance, Vocational Education, Community Service Administration, and Work experience with the private sector or disadvantaged youth.
