Details : Safety Manager

Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading safety initiatives, coordinating training, and advising on best practices regarding health and safety. This role supports branch operations by identifying at-risk activities, proposing safer resolutions, and reducing job site accidents and incidents. With regular regional travel, the Safety Manager will conduct job site visits, facilitate safety training, and lead the safety team in addressing identified hazards and exposures.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership & Compliance

  • Act as the primary Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) contact for the assigned region.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's safety policies, procedures, and EHS programs, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by fostering positive relationships with general contractors (GC), subcontractors, and trade workers.

Training & Program Development

  • Facilitate company safety training requirements within the region.
  • Plan and implement hazard mitigation strategies for high-risk activities.
  • Develop and manage project-specific safety manuals.
  • Auditing & Incident Management

  • Conduct routine safety audits on all assigned projects and document findings.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and share lessons learned.
  • Drive the resolution of action items noted during audits and investigations.
  • Collaboration & Support

  • Participate actively in safety committees, foremen's meetings, and other key teams.
  • Collaborate with the safety director to ensure injured employees receive appropriate medical care.
  • Manage safety for second-tier subcontractors and ensure appropriate safety supplies are maintained on all projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and external stakeholders, including GCs, subcontractors, unions, and regulatory agencies.
  • Administrative Duties

  • Oversee safety documentation, record-keeping, and distribution for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and manage project safety supply inventory.
  • Maintain professional relationships with field supervisors, superintendents, project engineers (PEs), project managers (PMs), and directors of operations (DOs).
  • Other Duties

  • Perform additional duties and assignments as required to meet evolving company needs.
  • Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR at least 5 years of relevant field experience.
  • OSHA certification preferred.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and cross-training capabilities.
  • Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Mastery of project and time management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish processes in areas without precedent or guidelines.
  • Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and job-specific software.

  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary : $95,000-$105,000 (based on experience).
