The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Care’s nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services. University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 90%- 100% Licensed Practical Nurse to work for the Orthopedic Clinic
Duties to include:
- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
- Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned.
- Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
*Please note - Prior to the Medical Center North Liberty opening, candidates will be expected to begin orientation on our Orthopedic Clinics at our Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City.

Percent of Time: 90% - 100%
Hourly: $20.92 to commensurate
Schedule: Monday- Friday during clinic hours
Location: Will be moving to the Medical Center North Liberty on or around April 2025.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
