The Iowa River Landing Ophthalmology Clinic is seeking a 60% - 80% Ophthalmic Technician. Under general supervision, operates, maintains and repairs highly specialized, complex medical equipment for use in the performance of tests and studies related to the treatment of patients and the teaching of staff personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
Ophthalmic Technicians in Ophthalmology are responsible for performing an extensive number of routine and advanced technical procedures, as delegated by the physician, to collect medical data and assist in patient care. Responsible for day-to-day operations and interaction with patients to obtain medical histories and precise measurement and documentation of:
- Visual acuity
- Manual lensometry
- Confrontational visual fields
- Stereopsis
- Motility
- Pupillary function
- Color plates
- Applanation tonometry
- Humphrey visual field
- Topography
- Pachymetry
- Tear testing
- OCT
- IOL master
- LenStar
- Ocular testing

Percent of Time: 60% - 80%
Schedule: hours to meet chosen FTE to be accomplished Monday, Wednesday, Friday between 8am-5am and Thursday evening clinic 4pm-8pm.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Three (3) years of health care experience involving direct patient care including some use and maintenance of specialized medical equipment with at least one (1) year of the prior experience at the level of a Clinical Technician II or equivalent, or a combination of related education and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an Ophthalmic setting.
