Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer in Topeka, KS.

Duties :

• Mid-Level Data Engineer will be responsible for the physical data structures, data integration, build, and care of solutions.
• Develop ELT processes and frameworks to efficiently extract, load, and transform data from various sources.
• Demonstrate commitment to software development best practices, including documentation, reusable code design, test driven implementation, and integrated software testing.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines to ensure high data quality and availability.
• Build data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
• Investigate and mitigate data quality issues.
• Discover and present opportunities for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering-related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5-8 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Hands-on data engineering experience with Google Cloud Platform cloud data ecosystem.
• Hands-on data engineering experience with cloud-based relational database platforms, preferably Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with modern ELT transformation tools, preferably dbt.
• Experience with workflow orchestration / scheduling solutions, preferably Airflow.
• Experience migrating from legacy to new data pipelines.
• Experience creating synthetic test data for data pipelines.
• Experience delivering software on at least 2 projects with a total project team size greater than 4 team members.
• Applied experience in Agile, SAFe, or Scrum.
• Familiarity with SAP systems (ECC, C4C, S4 HANA) a plus.
• Solid understanding of dimensional data modeling (star schema) concepts.
• Solid understanding of modern cloud-based data architecture and ELT processes.
• Solid understanding of Medallion architecture.
• Solid understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data design.
• Understanding of the theory and application of Continuous Integration / Delivery.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability, ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
• Strong SQL writing and optimizing skills for cloud-based relational database platforms, preferably Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues in data pipelines.
• Able to build and deploy automated cloud-based data pipelines.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance.
• Nice to have experience consuming and developing REST APIs, preferably with GraphQL.
• Nice-to-have experience implementing observability solutions.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical / dental / vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
