Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospital medicine and be well-versed in the principles of physiology and pulmonology. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing patients with respiratory conditions, particularly in acute care settings, including Level II Trauma Centers, Operating Rooms (OR), and Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU). Your expertise in airway management and patient assessment will be essential for delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate respiratory function and identify any abnormalities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
- Administer various respiratory therapies, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care strategies.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory health, treatment options, and self-management techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress notes in compliance with hospital policies.
- Participate in emergency response situations, providing critical care during acute respiratory events.
Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Strong knowledge of hospital medicine principles, physiology, and pulmonology.
- Experience in acute care settings such as Level II Trauma Centers or PICUs is preferred.
- Proficiency in airway management techniques and ventilator operation.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to interpret clinical data effectively.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
- Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
