Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and ventilator management.
- Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to therapy, adjusting care as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in a Level I Trauma Center environment to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex respiratory conditions.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory health, medication administration, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress in compliance with medical standards.
- Stay current with medical terminology and advancements in pulmonology to ensure the highest standard of care.
Requirements
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy practices.
- Experience or familiarity with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) protocols is preferred.
- Strong understanding of geriatrics and the unique respiratory needs of elderly patients.
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively within the scope of practice.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in high-pressure environments.
