Apartment Maintenance Technicians (Iowa)
Locations: Greenfield, IA, Shelby, IA, Minden, IA, Carson, IA and Red Oak, IA.
Job Summary: We are seeking skilled and reliable Apartment Maintenance Technicians to join our team. We have one full-time position to work in Greenfield, IA. We have one roving position which includes working some days in Shelby, Minden, Carson and Red Oak Iowa. Mileage is not paid.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm. Yes, there is on call. 1-hour Lunch (Unpaid) and two 15-minute breaks (Paid).
Salary: $22 to $24 per hour to start depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartment buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, groundskeeping
- Assist with the preparation of vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs (make ready).
- Swimming pool maintenance
- Inventory control and equipment maintenance
- Snow removal
- Masonry work
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Assist in apartment inspections and accurate record keeping
- Perform other duties as assigned by the property manager or supervisor
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in apartment maintenance or a related field
· Must have some HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, groundskeeping experience
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle
- Some computer knowledge for work orders
- Able to communicate in English
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Neat appearance
- Must have basic hand tools
Physical Requirements: The Apartment Maintenance Technician must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. The position may require standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: The Apartment Maintenance Technician will work primarily indoors and outdoors and will be exposed to various weather conditions. The position may require working on weekends and holidays and may involve on-call duties.
