The Program Management Director is a key member of the IT Leadership Team and plays a critical role in the IT function. This role oversees a team of high-performing Project and Program Managers, each responsible for managing relationships with business stakeholders, driving technology projects forward, ensuring alignment between systems and business strategy, and supporting stakeholders from a technology standpoint.
A fundamental component of this role is establishing and maintaining project and program management standards that ensure quality of work while supporting Our Company’s agile, dynamic culture. This includes intake and prioritization processes, documentation requirements, delivery/UAT standards, and maintaining alignment between business and technology.
This role requires someone who excels at the intersection of business and technology. They must possess the refinement to collaborate strategically with Corporate Executives and the aptitude to execute tactically on projects of all sizes. They must be a tenacious executor with a proven ability to overcome obstacles, drive initiatives forward, and deliver business value that differentiates Our Company from its competition. Additionally, they must be a strong people leader who values developing others and creating an environment that fosters engagement and productivity. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Project and Program Managers responsible for intake, prioritization, execution, documentation, and delivery.
  • Define and implement project and program management processes that standardize the execution of technology initiatives.
  • Build outstanding relationships with business stakeholders and technology leaders based on shared values, transparency, and mutual respect.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish business strategies, align product roadmaps, and deliver solutions.
  • Provide formal updates to senior leadership on the status of projects and initiatives.
  • Work closely with technical teams to establish, refine, and deliver product roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate full ownership and accountability of programs and projects, holding others accountable as well.
  • Foster a collaborative, engaging environment where IT teammates feel empowered and excited to drive tangible business value.
  • Exhibit a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and dive deep to find solutions when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology or business.
  • 10 years of Director-level experience leading a Program Management Office (PMO) or equivalent.
  • Proven success implementing key project/program management processes tailored to an organization’s unique culture and managing the resulting organizational change.
  • 5 years of direct people management experience, including developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its application in an agile environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with retail point-of-sale (POS), customer-facing digital systems, and enterprise transactional applications.
  • Ability to align stakeholders with differing visions and priorities, broker compromises, and deliver solutions that meet design and quality benchmarks.
  • Skill in translating business problems into functional requirements that drive efficiency, profitability, and outstanding customer experiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including executives.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to owning projects, programs, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring operational excellence for technology initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Project Manager (PMP) Certification.
  • Familiarity with web/cloud technologies, transactional EFT systems, and PCI requirements.
  • Experience with MarTech stacks, corporate financial platforms, and HRIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of SSAE-16/18 audit environments and related considerations.
  • Proven success working with external vendors, customers, and distributed resources (onshore, nearshore, offshore).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $147,802.00 - $160,227.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Philadelphia, PA 19106
